The
McGregors, originally from Johannesburg,
South Africa, live and evangelize in the United
States where they have been ministering in America
for 19 years. They are the offspring of the well-known
South African evangelist, Rev. George McGregor.
Rev. McGregor and his wife Mary prayed daily that
God would anoint their sons and daughter to be
used in the ministry of the Lord. God heard and
answered their fervent prayers. Today, all seven
sons are ministers of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ!
MINISTRY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
From early childhood the McGregor children were actively involved in their Dad's Ministry. They were responsible for praise and worship, special singing, youth crusades, advertising and setting up the massive tents throughout South Africa. They experienced the miraculous power of God in their father's crusades. The McGregors grew into a powerful music ministry and became well known all over Africa and much of Europe.
Following the sudden death of their father in 1985, the McGregors answered the call of God to come to the United States as missionaries. They remembered the vow they made at their father's graveside to continue to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ where their dad left off.
MINISTRY IN THE PARKING LOT
Their arrival into the "New World" proved dismal. They contacted church after church only to hear the same responses - "The church calendar is full", "The pastor is not h258ere now", "America does not need missionaries, America sends them". But through it all, The McGregors did not give up. They knew that God had called them to America as missionaries.
Through the long, hot lonely months with no open doors, Jehovah God was faithful and provided for them in miraculous ways. As they traveled from town to town, they would sing and minister in the parking lots of Wal-Mart and K-Mart. There they shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with great enthusiasm and excitement. One hot summer morning, cramped up in an old van without air conditioning and no where to go, the wives began to cry. They said, "We've had enough! The children have no home and are miserable! This is too hard. We can't take this anymore! We want to go back to South Africa. They do not want us in America".
Pastors were not returning their calls, churches were not welcoming them in, they were feeling unwanted and all their money was gone. In desperation Johann jumped out of their van onto the parking lot of a busy shopping center, threw his hands in the air and cried out to God in a loud voice in Afrikaans, "Here, help ons!" which means "Lord, help us!"
THE GREAT PENSACOLA OUTPOURING
In June of 1995, The McGregors held a revival at Brownsville Assembly of God Church, Pensacola, Florida, with Pastor John Kilpatrick who states: "The McGregors were in Revival here in Pensacola one week before the "Great Pensacola Outpouring". This anointed group was truly used by God and played a mayor and integral part in laying the foundation for this great revival. We were honored to have them and thank God for their ministry."
The McGregors were honored to minister in song with the "Awake America" Crusades with Rev. John Kilpatrick and Evangelist Steve Hill. They have been invited to be special sing guests at many Brownsville Assembly Pastors' Conferences.
BREAKTHROUGH IN AMERICA That very day the Lord led them to Rev. Paul Baggett, (The Happy Pastor) of Millersville Assembly of God Church in Nashville, TN. Pastor Baggett invited them to sing and minister at his church. As they sang and ministered during the morning worship service, something wonderful happened. The presence of God filled the church.
Everyone began to weep, people ran to the altar and fell on their faces before the Lord. That glorious Sunday morning service turned into a seven week revival!
News of the ministry of The McGregors and how God was using this team began to spread and church doors began to open. They began holding revivals all over the country. In 1993, they were offered a recording contract by a major recording company in Nashville. Their reputation was as a quality ministry grew and their music received national attention. God richly blessed the ministry of The McGregors.
